Inflection Points

With apologies to McKinsey and MIT, we appreciated the challenges they noted with market adoption of GenAI for production. If you missed our comments on their 'points of view', you can find them here and here.. We have experienced the 'death by a thousand prototypes' in our client work, and do agree that adoption will accelerate when companies 'rewires' for AI. However, there is astonishing value for the companies that prevail and push forward now.

Thats why we thought it would be important to "Show - Don't tell".

We've been tracking with this startling change from GenAI from the beginning, including some healthy skepticism on the direction of this technology. You can read about our concerns here and here. But given the passage of several years and billions in new capital investments, we've witnessed with the rest of the world some startling advancements, and immediate opportunities. While there is much work to be done on several fronts (including rewiring companies for AI), the timing is right for real-time production deployments.

So we invite you to give one small demo a try, built for a real-world use case of helping guests explore and secure reservations at a hotel.

This demo, of course, is limited in several important ways, but hopefully broad enough to give you a sense of the potential. It is plugged into a booking-engine and will record reservations (not cancellations). The Voice Agent will also help you explore options among the three Units that are available to reserve but is limited to just those units. The options to help guests book restaurants or a tee time at the local golf course have not been enabled (although easily accommodated). The demo is set up to take your credit card (test mode on Stripe), so be sure to use one of the test card numbers like 4242 4242 4242 4242.

And finally, be aware that a transcript of your conversation with the agent is being recorded. So if you agree to taking this agent for a 'test drive', be aware that you have agreed to the disclaimer below, and your interactions will be used by our team to further improve the product. All conversations from this demo will be deleted 30 days after recording, none will be made public. You'll only be contacted with your consent if we need to reach out and clarify issues noted in the operation of the Voice Agent.

So to get started, access the demo here. And in the image below, you'll note the only requirement is the simple login and validation as highlighted in by the red arrow.

And get started by asking the agent about available units and amenities, and then booking a stay. The visuals are all selected and rendered by AI. The dialogue is 100% AI, drawing off a set of data about the hotel provided to the agent. The booking calendar is real, so if you pick a date where the unit is already is reserved, ask the AI Agent to find you some alternative dates. We think this is a use case that beats the 'two dimensional web', and is an example of how businesses can deploy AI to help them win more business.
